Thanks to a generous donation from Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation (SEHF), in partnership with Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital, free guest Wi-Fi is now available in busy clinical areas like Outpatient and Emergency Departments.

It allows patients and visitors to stay connected with friends and family, access entertainment and manage their everyday lives. Staff can also use the service with any Wi-Fi enabled device, including smartphones, tablets and laptops.

“Wi-Fi is just one initiative we are introducing this year to improve facilities for patients, staff and visitors, “ Linda Fagan, CEO, SEHF, said.

“The Foundation is committed to supporting the hospital by providing amenities and equipment including enabling technical capabilities fundamental in our everyday lives.

“It’s thanks to those who give bequests and our donor community generally that the Foundation can make essential enhancements for patients and staff.”

Dr Pauline Rumma, Director of Clinical Services, SSEH, said Wi-Fi is being made available across the campus in a phased approach, with priority allocated to high-volume, patient-centred areas.

“As Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital is a heritage site, there is a need to install new cabling infrastructure, which will be completed in stages,” Pauline said.

“Wi-Fi is now live in the Clinical Services Building across all three levels.

“Staff and patients will be advised when other phases are completed.”
