Please note that at least one investigator must have an appointment at the Sydney Eye Hospital campus.
This should include the details (title, name, email, telephone) of any co-investigators. Please note that at least one investigator must have an appointment at the Sydney Eye Hospital campus.
(Maximum of five pages, excluding references). This should include the background, aims, proposed methods and potential significance of the outcomes of the research.
This should include salaries, travel and equipment. Each item of the budget should be justified. For any pieces of equipment valued at over $5,000, a quotation should be included as part of the application. GST should not be included in calculations. Funds should not be used towards travel to conferences. Salaries should be calculated from the applicable NH&MRC or University scales (please indicate the source scale in the proposal). Administrative, or on-costs, will not be covered.
Applicants must inform the SEHF of any additional funding received to date, or during the award period for this, or a related, research project. The Foundation reserves the right to make adjustments to the amount of the award in instances where additional funding is obtained.
Please including publications over the last ten years, any grants received and a summary of the contribution of each named investigator to the proposed research.
Research studies involving human participants, human tissue or clinical data require ethical review in accordance with the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research. The 2023 updated National Statement is effective from 1 January 2024. Please ensure the ethics application documents have been prepared. Ethical clearance will be obtained from the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Human Research Ethics Committee or a relevant body, and you will agree to comply with the highest ethical standards for conducting research.
  • Applicants must consent to participate in media promotion about their research activity. They must also agree to acknowledge Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation in any publications or presentations arising from the proposed work, as well as in any potential commercial opportunities.
Successful applicants are required to provide a half-page project report within 6 months, including details of any publications and links, budget tracking, and any results, followed by a 12-month completion report.
