Professor Gerard Sutton on COVID-19 and your eye health

11 May 2020

G'day I’m Professor Gerard Sutton, I’m one of the directors of the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation.

I just wanted to talk to you briefly today about the impact of COVID-19 on your eye health.

Last month or so it has been very difficult getting in to see Eye Specialists but now the government after a period of isolation is suggesting that everybody go back and get their eyes sorted out. So, it’s reasonable now if you have an eye problem to go and see an eye specialist.

Our peak body the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology  have indicated that now is the time if you have cataracts or other problems to go and get them sorted out, so, at the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation we're interested in your eye health and would encourage you to go back and see your eye specialist.
