Fundraising lunch raises $50,000 to help regional and remote patients

With Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders experiencing blindness and vision loss at three times the rate of other Australians, Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation stepped up to help close the gap in eye health hosting a fundraising lunch on 6 May 2022.

This event was truly something special and we raised over $50,000 to help remove barriers so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients can experience easier access and care from our specialist hospital.

Our sincere thanks are extended to everyone involved, our guests, impressive speakers, among whom was a last-minute surprise, namely Joe Hockey, former Australian Ambassador to the United States.

We are also grateful to those who generously donated auction and raffle items and of course, to our volunteers and hospital staff who joined us to step up and make a difference.
